An Event Dedicated to International Children's Day Took Place
An event dedicated to International Children's Day was held at the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It was co-organized by the Embassy of Finland in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As part of the event, a Finnish children's literature corner was officially inaugurated. This initiative was jointly organized by the Embassy of Finland in Kazakhstan, the National Academic Library, and the ISKU company.
Welcoming remarks at the opening ceremony were delivered by Kumis Seitova, Director of the National Academic Library; Sholpan Karibekkyzy, Director of the Department of Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan; and Janne Heiskanen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
A festive program titled "Inspired by Moomin Stories"—based on the wonderful tales of the world-famous Finnish author Tove Jansson—was organized for the children. The program featured loud readings of Moomin books, a literary quiz, educational games, creative activities, and other engaging events that left the children with bright impressions and joyful memories.
During the event, the Embassy of Finland donated 70 books by prominent Finnish authors to the library's new children's literature corner. This initiative will undoubtedly help Kazakhstani children discover world literature and will further strengthen cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Finland.
